Dottie's World Sunday Challenge

It's Karen's turn to set the challenge on Dottie's World this week, and here it is...

"I would like to see a download, or downloads, interacting in some way with a picture of either the recipient or "something else". So it doesn't have to be a picture of a person but it must be a real photograph, and not just clipart etc. You could of course just do a layout and that would cover the requirements; it's up to you."

The paper is Basic Grey (I think?), which I covered with acetate printed with the gorgeous white trees attached to the card with Dovecraft brads, then added some white rub-ons. I embossed the dark blue mat with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder, the snowman (a photograph of one we built last Winter) has a flocked scarf and a hand made top hat, and is placed behind the acetate overlay. The carol singing Dottie and George was coloured with Prismas and is placed on top of the overlay and the song book is layered and Glossy Accented. I used an Imaginisce Snowflower, one of the download circular greetings and another Dovecraft brad.

There's a chance to be selected for the December Design Team Member this week too AND a fabulous free 'Karaoke Dottie' for everyone who enters this challenge. What are you waiting for?

DARING CARDMAKERS - WE ARE DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS...and....

I had the chance to join in with DaringCardmakers today, which is .......

"this week...we are dreaming of a WHITE (and splash of pink Christmas!) I would love you to design a card which includes white mostly (ie: snow, snowmen etc ) and also a little splash of pink somewhere on the card. "I ran this chipboard snowflake through my Xyron then covered it in Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels - a bit of a messy process! The card is covered in snowflake acetate and the PINK glitter tree is another magazine freebie (loving these). A very simple, messy and hopefully elegant card.

There's a treat over at Dottie's World tomorrow - don't forget to pop on over there.

Back to Birthdays

I have a few friend's Birthdays coming up soon, so I had the perfect excuse to use another Whiff of Joy stamp. These Bo Bunny papers were made for this and I carried the theme through with the flowers and brads.
Definitely more Christmas tomorrow - have you ever seen a citrus coloured Christmas tree? No? Well pop back tomorrow and you just may see one!!!

Tilda Christmas

I've had this 12x12 pad of K&Co Brenda Walton speciality papers sitting around for ages so decided to give them a go. Not my favourite ever Christmas paper - perhaps I need to play a bit more with them. I bought the WeRMemory Keepers magnetic cutting mat, circle cutter and other bits and bobs from QVC recently, and the circle cutter is the best I've tried, particularly as there are really strong magnets to hold the paper/card in place so it doesn't slip. Helps that the cutting mat is a lovely purple too! Have a good day xx

A Serene Scene

Back to good old Tilda and the DCWV Winter Matstack. The birds are cut from a sheet of the paper in the stack, Tilda and the tree are coloured with Prismas and I added a touch of 'snow' with the Snow Writer. The glitter snowflake was a freebie with a magazine (one of the better ones I think), and the sentiment is Basic Grey.

More Christmas Cards!

Another Whiff of Joy stamp (well I never said I only bought one did I?) - love this one, she's so cute. Papers are DCWV Rose Tinted Christmas with a little Papermania thrown in (pink polka dots) and the 'tree' is layered on lovely irridescent white card. The snowflake is an Imaginisce snowflower - these are just gorgeous, and a giant Bazzill brad.

Whiff of Joy

I treated myself again - I know, I said I was on a stash diet, but I needed cheering up! The image is coloured with Prismas and Distress Ink, as is the flower border, paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder, K&Co papers and Fancy Pants & Sissix rub-ons. Lots of distressing done to the paisley paper, a touch of Glossy Accents and generously inked edges to finish.
Better get back to Christmas cards now as I sold loads yesterday at the school Advent Fayre.

Sunday Challenge - Flowers

It's Louise's challenge this week over at Dottie's World and it is to use flowers somewhere on your work as well as one of the downloads. The image is coloured with Ranger Distress Inks and I used my favourite Prima flowers.
More great examples can be seen on Dottie's blog.

A FEW GIFT ENVELOPES

Yes, I've been away for a while and unable to craft very much, but here are a few gift envelopes which my friend asked for. Back tomorrow with a card for Dottie's World Sunday Challenge.

Not a Christmas card!

Another card using the angel hair fibres (thanks Sarah - yes, that is what they're called). This time on a distressed and layered handmade flower. I think the paper is Prima, but I would be wrong! I love the effect of these fibres used like this, but they really don't show up too well in the photos. The commissions are almost finished - just need to photograph them before I forget!
Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Just a Quickie Today...

...a very simple card made with Basic Grey Wassail. I used the 6x6 paper pad papers for this and cut the Christmas tree paper into triangles to make the tree. Not really my usual style (white space - eek!), but I like the simplicity of this.
Hope you like it too.
Don't get blown away in the gales!

I Don't Like Mondays....

.....because I can't spend time crafting. Anyway, I have this to show you today, a Christmas card with a punched circle Christmas tree. I wanted to try using these fibres wrapped around the tree, so I kept the Cosmo Cricket papers simple, just inked edges and Istamped silver stars on the gold paper. So what is your verdict on the fibres? Difficult to say I suppose from a photograph - they do look quite good IRL I think.
I have a mountain of orders still to do this week and a charity craft fair to get ready for, but I will try to post something each day. *panics*.
Thanks for visiting xxx

Dottie's World Sunday Challenge - COLOUR ME SILLY!

Here is my card for the challenge over on Dottie's World this week. This was inspired by all the colourful fireworks I've seen this week, so the challenge is to use as much colour as you want. I've used the Home Tweet Home image from the new Animal Magic collection, Bo Bunny paper which was just made for this image, bazzill card embossed with Cuttlebug folder and that special Bazzill ribbon (the red one).
It's not easy to see, but the birds are flocked and the rest of the image is coloured with Prismas (what would I do without them?)
Well I've got at least a couple of hours crafting planned today, so I'm off to play.
Have a good day xxx

My New Best Friend

Back to the adorable Scruff for today's Animal Magic card, coloured with Prismas and using Cosmo Cricket Papers. The flowers are simply punched circles. I'm sure you know all about this collection by now, but just in case, they are available here. It's my turn to set the challenge on the new look Dottie's World tomorrow so be sure to check it out if you can.
Enjoy your weekend xx

The Perfect Peggy Pig!

And here she is! I resized her for this card and she may be a little small, but perfectly formed, and perfectly happy just lazing around. Papers are Blonde Moments; I printed Peggy onto piggy pink Bazzill and again onto patterned paper then paper pieced her tiny bikini! Hmmm, doesn't cover much does it?
Tommorow it's back to my absolute favourite from this collection, the adorable Scruff - just can't resist him.
Almost the weekend - have a good one xx

Thursday is 'Ellie'day!

Here she is, and who couldn't love her? Ellie the Elephant is another of the brand new characters in Louise's Animal Magic collection and she's available as a download from Charmed.
I decided she needed her very own home, so made her this tent shaped card using Core'dinations cardstock.
Don't forget to pop over to Dottie's World where there is a fab challenge and just for taking part you will receive a gorgeous Fairy Dottie image absolutely free!
Have a thrilling Thursday and thanks for visiting xxx

MEET LADY PUSSKINS!

This is a lady with 'cattitude' (sorry!) - she is the belle of the ball and she knows it!
Lady Pusskins is another of the fabulous characters in Louise Brigden's Animal Magic Collection available from Charmed Cards and Crafts. She is coloured with Prismas and the papers are Heidi Grace ' A Little Birds Tale'. I hand doodled the button flower stems to match the papers, did a bit of distressing and added a few gems and a touch of Stickles.
Have a great time if you're going to a bonfire tonight and enjoy those toffee apples. It seems to have been firework night here for weeks now!
Back tomorrow with Ellie the Elephant.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Simply Sparkling!

Today it's time for me to introduce 'Little Birdie' to you - he's soooooo tweet! I made this card for this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge which is to use sparkle on your work. CS is Core'dinations which has been embossed with Cuttlebug folders. The cute Christmas trees provide the sparkle and I made a little Santa Hat to add to the Christmas theme.

'Little Birdie' is another of the delightful characters from Louise's 'Animal Magic' collection available at Charmed - check back tomorrow for another little sweetie.
Have a great day xx

Magnolia Vs Stampavie Sketch Challenge

The Magnolia Challenge blog has changed! It is now called Magnolia Vs Stampavie and is here. The first challenge on the new blog is a fabulous sketch and here is my card using Tilda and Edwin coloured with Prismas. The papers are Bo Bunny 'a gift of love', and flowers are Prima. Gosh, it's a shock to the system going back to work after a week off - not sure I like it, but needs must I suppose!
Thanks for visiting - I really appreciate it. xxx

Meet Ozzy (or is that Ozwina?)!

Today I would like to introduce you to Ozwina - as you can see, a very beautiful Ostrich! She is another character from the Animal Magic Collection by Louise Brigden, available from Charmed. I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie and coloured her majesty with Prismas.

Back to work today, so got to dash. Have a fab Monday xx.

Sketch Saturday - MEET THE ADORABLE 'SCRUFF'

Isn't this little fella the most adorable doggie you ever saw? I think it's luuuuurve!
Anyway, more about him later. This card is for the Sketch Saturday challenge yesterday which is an absolutely fabulous and unusual sketch. Papers are Heidi Grace 'We Are Family', the sentiment is another of Karen's freebies and 'Scruff' is coloured with Prismas. That delectable ribbon is Bazzill and it only comes out on special occasions!
OK, so where can you get your hands on 'Scruff'? HERE over at Charmed. There are 10 characters altogether, all equally gorgeous, and all created by Louise Brigden.
Check back each day this week when I will post another card using these fab images.
Happy crafting folks!

Dottie's World Challenge - Black, white and a splash of .........COLOUR!!!

It's Adele's turn to set the challenge this week at Dottie's World and it is a great challenge -

'Black, white and a splash of .........COLOUR!!! I want your creations this week to be only 3 colours. Black, white and one colour of your choice. You can use as many tones of grey and of your chosen colour, and you can obviously use a skintone and haircolour, but that's it.'

I've used this fabulous Fairy Dottie image for my card and added pink flock to her hat, skirt and flowers. The sentiment is one of the giveaways from Karen which are fab, and I added some doodling to the borders as well as a generous helping of white Stickles. The great news is that YOU can have this image absolutely free - all you have to do is submit a card for the challenge to Dottie's World.

Louise announced the release of the new 'Animal Magic' collection yesterday and I can tell you it is absolutely fabulous - I spent most of yesterday playing with the cute images and I just know you will love them. Pop over to Dottie's World to find out more and there is a link to download them - and if you come back to my blog tomorrow I will give you a sneaky peak, but don't tell Lou!
Enjoy Sunday xxx

Basic Grey Challenge - Christmas

Today's Basic Grey Challenge was easy for me as I received my Wassail order yesterday. I made the scalloped border from punched hearts and attached them to the underside of the matted square, after inking all edges in gold Versacolor. The stamped border is in the same ink, but I can't remember where the stamp is from. I love these acrylic messages, although you can't see it in the photo, this one says 'Joy'. The flowers are Prima Essentials 4 and I think the chipboard Christmas tree is Kelly Panaci, but correct me if I'm wrong as it's a 2007 left-over. I'll be drawing the blog candy winner tonight around 9pm so if you're not already in the draw leave a comment above and good luck! Enjoy your Saturday!
