Papertake Weekly - Recipe

A recipe is the challenge at Papertake Weekly this week:
1 Circle
2 Ribbons
3 Stamps
I used the lovely 'Madison on Safari' image from Holly & Madison's World Tour downloads, coloured with Copics and the papers are Blonde Moments (bought at the Harrogate Show). The flowers are Prima, ribbons, brads, butterfly and ladybugs from stash. So, the circle is the sentiment, which is also a stamp, the image is a stamp/download and the flower stem is a stamp, with two ribbons used. I think that covers it!

Having a crafty play day today - Maddy and Rachel are coming to mine. Hope we manage to get something done amongst all the gabbing LOL.
Have a good one! xxx

Sketch Saturday

Yet another fab sketch at Sketch Saturday this week and another excuse to use my Miss Anya stamps - really love these! She is coloured with Copics, the papers are Kaisercraft and I used the papers as part of the sketch when I spotted the vine running through the paper which is perfect as a background to the flowers (circles on the sketch). The leaves were cut with my McGill punch, the sentiment is a stamp and the flowers are Prima with Papermania gems added to the centres.
Going to have a look at the Basic Grey Challenge now for more inspiration, so watch this space.
Have a great day! xxx

Colour Create Challenge - Lilac and Blue

I always say this, but I really love the Colour Create Challenge and this week it's Lilac and Blue - not two colours I would usually put together, but it works! The 'optional extras' were to use ribbon and swirls on your project. I was lucky enough to get the Miss Anya stamps last week and they are gorgeous and so easy to work with, so couldn't wait to use them. She is coloured with Copics BV02 and B02, the flowers are Prima (one of yesterday's buys) and the chipboard is Heidi Grace 'A Little Bird's Tale'. Papers are Crate (lilac) and something else (?!).

The weather has certainly picked up again and it's a beautiful Spring morning, exactly as it was when my son was born 20 years ago today! (where did that time go?)
Have a lovely Sunday xxx

Dottie's World Challenge - Shaped Card

Louise set the challenge this week over at Dottie's World - to make a shaped card; anything except a rectangle or square! Now, this is something I'm not particularly good at, but here is my effort. I used Madison in Japan from the World Tour Collection, coloured her with Copics R05 and BG05, and added these beautiful orchids which I've had for ages. I know orchids don't grow like this, but hey! - I put it down to artistic licence, and the fact that they wouldn't fit on one branch. The shaped card was cut on my Silhouette, but I'm still experimenting with different card weights and it found the Bazzill slightly tricky - some adjustments needed there!
Had a great day at Harrogate yesterday and met up with some crafty pals - boy, was it busy!!! I didn't spend too much though, but you may see a couple of new stamps appearing soon.
Have a lovely Sunday xxx

AWOL Today!

I know I've been ranting on about it for days now, but I'm in Harrogate today at the Papercrafts Show - YAY!

I made this card for my DT work over at Dottie's World, so thought I would also show it here as I love the image of Holly in Spain sooooo much. Paper is K&Co Berry Sweet Speciality and the swirl and flower are cut from the same glittery paper. Holly is coloured with Copics and stickles has been added to her dress.
Copics used: R05,Y08, BG05, YR16, RV06, G14

Have a great day, whatever you're doing! xxx

Daring Cardmakers - 'Bunnies and Chicks'

At Daring Cardmakers today the dare is to make a project using 'Bunnies and/or Chicks' - you can just about see the chick on this new Leanne Ellis stamp which I received today along with some Gorjuss Girls and Greeting Farm stamps.
I used Copics for colouring the image and the leaves (which is a stamp but can't remember where from!), and the last few bits of my Blonde Moments papers which I intend to replenish tomorrow in Harrogate. The sentiment is a stamp and the felt flowers are from stash box.
Thanks for visiting xxx

Friday Sketchers

You already know how much I like working with sketches and today's challenge at Friday Sketchers is another fabulous one. I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers for this H&S image which is coloured with Copics. The 'love' ticket is a Tim Holtz Adage and the sentiment is a Penny Black stamp.

Nearly the weekend and what a great one to look forward to with the Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza in Harrogate this weekend, and my son coming home from Uni this evening. Got to rush now this morning....have to be somewhere soon!
Have a great day xxx
Just wanted to add that the mustard was achieved with Y21 and Y17 and the flower was made using the lace pleated and stitched together. xx

The Sugar Bowl Challenge - 'Spring or Easter'

The challenge over at the Sugar Bowl today is to make a project celebrating Spring or Easter, so I was more than happy to use lovely bright and cheery colours with these K&Co Berry Sweet papers and my Gorjuss Girl coloured with Copics. I cut the frame on my Silhouette and added Prima flowers, a piece of Felt Fusion and a couple of Berry Sweet embellishments and gems. The little chick is a WOJ stamp coloured with Copics.
Thanks for looking ... would love to hear your comments xxx

Cute Card Thursday - Family Affair!

First of all, I'm thrilled to have won the CCT challenge prize last week - a cute set of stamps from The Greeting Farm - thanks guys xx.

Secondly, how did they know at Cute Card Thursday that it is my son's 20th birthday on Sunday and that I needed to make a card? The challenge this week is to make a card for a family member - perfect!!! So here it is, using Basic Grey Cupcake papers and die cuts, with a photograph of my son which is behind acetate in a chipboard frame. Just need to put some cash inside and he'll be happy! He's at university in Birmingham studying to be a PE teacher, and is coming home tomorrow to celebrate with his friends, then all the family are going out for a meal on Sunday, so a lovely weekend in prospect (especially as I'm going to the Papercrafts Extravaganza in Harrogate on Saturday!).
Have a super duper day xxx

ABC Challenge - Glitter

The ABC Challenge today is G for Glitter - and I went to town with the Stickles for this around the border, on the star and on the sentiment circle. Papers are Fancy Pants Sweet Pea and the gorgeous Gorjuss Girl is coloured with Copics. I distressed all the edges with scissors, inked edges with Distress Ink and added a little bling.

Have a great day and thank you for visiting ..... love hearing your comments! xxx

Copic Colour Challenge

This week at Copic Colour Challenge Shell gave us these gorgeous colours to work with:I used my new SN stamp for this (just fell in love with this image when I saw her!), and cut the frames and leaves on my Silhouette. This also illustrates how you can also achieve very pale, delicate shades using Copics and how versatile they are. The butterfly and flower centre are K&Co and pearl gems and flowers are Papermania.

Hope you get the chance to join us this week - we all look forward to seeing your wonderful Copic creations.

Two Challenges......

Magnolia Vs Stampavie - 'Get in Shape' AND Spoonful of Sugar - 'Easter' are the two challenges for which I made this card. I cut the oval shape on my Silhouette, the new Spring Collection Tilda is coloured with Copics as is the Imaginisce Chick, papers are from stash box (can't remember, sorry!), and the ribbon came from Ribbon Oasis in a prize I won. I don't usually combine challenges - feels a bit like cheating!
Hope the sun is shining for you - it's much calmer here today and I'm going to take advantage of it. Have a great day xxx

Papertake Weekly - Sketch

We are treated to another of Dawny's sketches today at Papertake Weekly....and what a gorgeous one it is too! I've spent some time today colouring images with my Copics and this Gorjuss Girl is one of them. Papers are SEI and DCWV, rub-ons Magnolia, flowers Prima and raffia lace from stash.
Can't wait for these stamps to become available - I've almost run out of the images I stamped from Maddy's! Enjoy your evening and thank you for visiting xxx

Charisma Cardz Challenge - Sketch

I've been meaning to join in with the Charisma Cardz Challenge for a few weeks now and somehow never got around to it......however, this week I have and I really enjoyed using this sketch. The Gorjuss Girl is coloured with Copics, cardstock is Bazzill Bling and papers are Crate.
I deliberately kept this really simple and used a colour combo which I don't usually use. Loving the peach with blue!

Well there's things blowing all over the place today and the bad news is I have to go out now.....thanks for visiting and see you later. xxx

Basic Grey Challenge - Texture

Another challenge I always love is the Basic Grey Challenge - didn't get chance yesterday, so here it is today! This week it's 'Texture', and I think I have quite a few different textures here with the stitching, the acetate overlay, lace, fabric square and flowers. 'Simone' from Toodle & Binks stamps is coloured with Copics and I used the exotic Basic Grey Marrakech papers...loving these colours and I'm really pleased with the result.

Thanks for looking xx

Colour Create Challenge - Navy, Turquoise and Lime

Ooooh, I just love this colour combination so my first project today is the Colour Create Challenge....the extra twist this week is to use NO patterned paper! A challenge indeed! Thinking cap on and a look through my stamps and this one jumped out at me. I used Tombow pens to colour the flowers on the stamp, Distress Inks to colour Tilda and Prima flowers. I may have forgotten to mention that I took delivery of a Silhouette on Friday and the first results are on this card too! I'm going to have lots of fun playing with my new toy.

Happy Mothers' Day to all you mums out there - hope you have a perfect day!

I had the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers delivered yesterday from my sons, a home made keyring from James and two beautiful cards (not handmade!), and a lovely cuppa in bed this morning.

Thanks for visiting xxx

Dottie's World Challenge - Twice As Nice!

Adele set this week's challenge at Dottie's World - 'Twice As Nice', to use at least two of the downloads on our project. I used the ever lovely Madison, coloured with Copics and the sweet little birdie image from the Animal Magic collection. We all hope you join us this week for the challenge - pop over there to see the other fabulous DT cards and hopefully be inspired!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend xxx

Sketch Saturday

I often say how much I love sketches, and this one at Sketch Saturday today is brilliant - it can be interpreted in a really simple way for a quick card or you could go to town on all the layering. I went for something between the two........the beautiful image is coloured with Copics, papers are Crate, flowers Prima and sentiment from Craftwork Cards. I used Core'dinations cardstock, Cuttlebugging and sanding the pink layer, punched the large flowers to layer with the hydrangeas and sugar coated brads, with a few gems to finish.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the weather!

Friday Sketchers

Not only is there a wonderful new sketch to follow at Friday Sketchers this week, but I scored double points because I made a BOY'S card - well it's double points in my book anyway! I've been using my Magnolia Spring Stamps again (all except the bee which was lying hidden in my folder), all coloured with Copics. Papers are AMM Herbanella with Bazzill cardstock cut with Nestabilities and doodling with Inkessentials white pen. There's some Glossy Accents in there too!
Another gorgeous day to enjoy - off to cut the grass now......see you later! xxx

Cute Card Thursday - Recipe

Over at Cute Card Thursday this week, there's a recipe to follow:

"Take something ripped; 2 papers and 4 embellishments BUT there's a twist - four embellishments means ONLY four. A two-layered flower with a charm/spacer and a brad for example would count as ALL of your embellishments so choose them wisely!"

Now this was a really difficult one for me because I don't 'do' minimal, but it was a challenge and that's what it's all about right? Papers are Imaginisce, Daisy is coloured with Distress Inks, flowers are Prima and Papermania with Flowersoft in the centres (didn't even know I had any!), lace is from Hobbycraft and the sentiment is done on computer.
Just feels like there's something missing to me....thanks for looking! xxx

Stamp with Stampavie - 'Spring'

A very appropriate challenge this week at Stamp with Stampavie, and it's 'Spring!' .... just had to use my new Spring Tilda for this and WRMK Nonsense papers. What will I do when these papers run out - I just love them!
Tilda is coloured with Copics, highlighted with Inkessentials white pen, all edges inked with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, a Prima flower and BG Cupcake brads.
Thanks for looking xxx

Whiff of Joy Challenge - Green!

In celebration of St Patrick's Day yesterday, the Whiff of Joy Challenge this week is 'Green'. I decided to have a change from the Copics and went for the Ranger Distress Inks for colouring the image. Papers are a mixture of Prima and Basic Grey, the flowers and leaves were created with various punches and the sentiment is stamped. I went to town with the scissors for distressing edges, and doodled with my brown Zig pen. Ribbons are Making Memories and the brads BG Cupcake.
Thanks for visiting xxx

ABC Challenge - Flowers

I had a lovely surprise yesterday when I received this gorgeous Toodles and Binks 'Simone' stamp in the post and couldn't wait to use it! This card fits with the ABC Challenge this week, which is 'flowers' - well, flowers appear on most of my cards anyway! Simone is coloured with Copics Y21,R59 & YG23, papers are 3 Bugs in a Rug, flowers are Prima Can-ection and the sentiment is stamped.

We have a clear blue sky, broken only by airplane vapour trails, a light breeze and the garden bursting with new life! Only one thing to spoil it all - the windows need cleaning!!!

Enjoy your day xxx

Copic Colour Challenge - Inspiration

It's Wednesday and time for another Copic Colour Challenge, which Chris set this week, and here is the inspiration.I immediately knew I wanted to use the Madison in France image from 'Holly & Madison's World Tour', but hadn't a clue where I was going with my card, and I still haven't a clue how it turned out as it did! The colours seemed to form the biggest part of the inspiration for me and I just kind of went with the flow, adding things here and there LOL. The background is created with Distress Inks and heat embossing, various stamps, rub-ons, doodling and other bits were used and the BG Cupcake buttons to reflect Madison's boxes.

We all hope you join with the Copic Colour Challenge this week - we really enjoy seeing all your wonderful work.

Have a creative day xxx

A Spoonful of Sugar - Gems

Went for the 'pretty' look for this card which is for this week's 'A Spoonful of Sugar' Challenge - to use gems on your project. The Gorjuss Girl is coloured with Copics, papers are Basic Grey Sultry, and there are some BG Sugared die cuts in there too. The large flower is Prima and as you can see I went to town on the gems and pearls!
Well the sun IS here now and I'm going to get in it. xx
