Well, I'm sat here with a box of M&S Belgian chocs and a G&T, waiting for the inevitable fireworks, having opted for a quiet evening in this New Year. I've been doing lots of blog hopping today and gaining loads of inspiration for a crafty 2009 and had an utterly lazy day!
Happy New Year to all my blogging friends - may 2009 bring you health, happiness and lots of inspiration!

It's a Strange Time ....

....these days between Christmas and New Year - anyone else think so, or is it just me?

It is nice to have loads of crafting time though, in and amongst recovering from the operation, and I've had a real good sort out of my unmounted stamps so they are now all neatly stored away in a folder so I can see exactly what I've got. Bit of a shock realising I had so many, so I have resolved to use them more, beginning with this card.

I do like creating borders around my images and this Paper Artsy stamp is perfect for the job. Tilda is paper pieced, papers and brads are Cosmo Cricket and flowers are Kaiser.

I'm itching to get out, but can't drive for a while yet (although my lovely friend Liz did take me to Next yesterday!), so it's another days crafting for me then.
Thanks for visiting xxx.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge

Well I have the time, but there aren't many challenges around at the moment (understandably!!). However, the last CCT challenge of 2008 is an open theme, so I made this Tilda Card using a mix of Basic Grey papers, Prima Flowers, sequins and Heidi Grace rub-ons.
I love the soft fresh colours in these papers - hope you do too!
Went on the hunt for a laptop in the sales today for DS, but no luck. If anyone knows THE place to shop for a laptop please let me know.

Dottie's World Sunday Challenge

Hmmm, think I may have got this a bit wrong, although a Thank You card would cheer someone up wouldn't it? I got so carried away with these beautiful new downloads you see which were released just before Christmas, so if you have some money to spend I recommend these, available from Charmed Cards and Crafts - anyway, here is the brief from Louise for today's Dottie's World Challenge ......

"After all the over indugence you've most likely had over Christmas ( a few poorly tummies and heads I guess?) The theme this week is Get Well Soon You don't have to use those words, but it has to be aimed at cheering someone up or wishing them well etc.If you don't know anyone who's poorly it could be wishing them well in their new job or a new home...basically, lots of positve vibes in this card please."

I used the 'Juliet' image (well, I had to didn't I?), coloured her with Prismas and added Glossy Accents to her hair, boots and bag. The background is the 'Salon' download, paper Cosmo Cricket and the rub-ons are K&Co and Heidi Grace.

We would love to see you join in this challenge too!

Have a great Sunday xxx

A Bright Card for a Dull Day!

Using one of my Whiff of Joy stamps, brown Doodlebug flocking, Basic Grey 'Offbeat' paper, Coredinations card, 'Swirls' Cuttlebug embossing folder, BG ribbon, Prima heart and flowers, R & L rub-on and a swirly border stamp which I can't remember where it's from!

Ooooh, and notice my new Twiddleybits Easel which I won on the Charmed Cards and Crafts Forum Cyber Bingo night recently - just perfect for showing off my cards!

Happy Boxing Day

And what a beautiful. bright and sunny morning it is here in Yorkshire.

Another card to show you today using one of the new images from Louise Brigden's 'Girls About Town' collection and Cosmo Cricket papers. I just love this new download.

Enjoy the rest of today, and if you're hitting the sales I'm dead jealous!

Whiff of Joy

I think my mojo may be returning at last, helped by this wonderful Whiff of Joy stamp and Heidi Grace 'A Little Bird's Tale' papers. I love the freshness of these colours and have been rooting around my stash for some more cheery springtime colours (a little premature maybe?). Christmas is a bit over my head this year with having to rest a lot, although I am sure I will enjoy it when it arrives.
One thing I am looking forward to though is lighter nights and we are already going in the right direction there!

Paper Pieced Tilda

Which is the brief for the challenge over at The Secret Crafter - paper piecing that is, which is a technique I like to use a lot. Papers are Basic Grey Periphery, gorgeous soft colours with sprinklings of lace, beads and sequins and a few rub-ons.

Girls About Town

My first card using the brand spanking new 'Girl About Town' images from Louise Brigden - only available at Charmed Cards and Crafts. I have to say I absolutely love this collection, they're right up my street and I just know Louise has another huge hit with these. This is the 'Louise' image (all the Design Team have girls named after them - how cool is that?) and all are equally fabulous!!! This bundle includes backgrounds and sentiments too!

I have a couple of weeks recuperation time following my op last week, so looking forward to plenty of crafting time in and amongst Christmas of course!

Thanks for visiting and for all your good wishes xxx

Tilda and Basic Grey - my perfect recipe!

It always seems to come together well, Tilda and Basic Grey. Papers are from the Blush collection which has to be one of my all time favourites, with Urban Prairie a close second (spot the similarity in colours). Tilda is part paper pieced and part coloured with Ranger Distress Inks.

Thanks for visiting - I'll be AWOL for a few days as I'm going in hospital for an operation on Wednesday, but I'll be back soon!

Remember these?

They were made for a Dottie's World Challenge a few weeks ago and now they are in their rightful place on my Christmas tree.
Hairdressers and Christmas shopping today, I expect the whole world will be shopping so probably see you there!

Yet Another.....

Christmas card - catching up a bit now! K&Co Peppermint Twist again, this time with an acetate sheet in front with the Christmas Trees. Can't remember when or where I bought these. I added a few snowflakes and went with the theme.
I love the Santa and sleigh in front of the moon (ET like) in this paper.

And Another

I think these papers are K&Co Peppermint Twist, but you know what I'm like for getting it wrong! I folded a sheet of A4 card to give this pop-out DL size. The 'snow' is torn hammered card and all the elements are cut from the papers. A few snowy sequins and and heat embossed sentiment to finish. xx

Christmas

Another crossed off the list. I used the Cuttlebug Christmas tree embossing folder, added the black sequins with Glossy Accents and cut around the shape before matting it onto black card.

A Mini Christmas Tree

I bought a polystyrene cone at Ally Pally earlier this year with the intention of making a ribbon tree for my craft room, but I decided to have a go with punched circles instead, and here is the result. It's quite cute really and very simple to do with all those paper scraps topped off with 2 Anna Griffin snowflakes back to back. There's some fabulous blog candy up for grabs on Dottie's World - check it out here.

December Birthdays

I can't believe how many friends I have with December Birthdays so I've been frantically trying to play catch up. Here is pretty little Tilda with her birdie with Basic Grey Urban Prairie. I love the colour palette of these papers. Flowers are a mix of Prima and Kaiser with little sequins and pearls added to the centre.
Just another two to make now then it's back to Christmas again.
Thanks for visiting - I love comments (hint hint)! xxx

Who Says Christmas Trees can't be this colour?

Desperate for a change of colour scheme, but needing to replenish the Christmas cards, I came up with this. Hmmmm, well I was feeling that way out you know. The yellow and orange layers are flocked and the top green one is glittered. Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder used with Blonde Moments papers and Ribbon Oasis ribbon. Maybe for an alternative Christmas?

Think I'll stick with more traditional colours in future LOL. xxx
